LOCAL GROUPS FOCC Black Country - Charity 109731826th April 1986, saw the nuclear power plant at Chernobyl in Northern Ukraine explode & subsequently blanket Belarus with radioactive contamination. FOCC Black Country is a registered charity in England providing respite care for disadvantaged children from the contaminated areas of Belarus following this nuclear catastrophe. Area: The Black Country is situated in the industrial heartlands of the West Midlands conurbation approximately 8 miles from Birmingham. Our central position in the country gives us access to a wide range of amenities, most of which the children in our groups have sampled. General background: FOCC Black Country was set up in late 2001, with our first visit of 12 children from Mogilev taking place in June 2002. In 2007, we continued our work with a second group of children, again from Mogilev.
Summer Visit 2012:
The visit took place between 30 May & 27 June. We had three new children time &
two new Host families too. Thanks to all those who worked hard to make this years visit
possible.
