Could You Sponsor Neil on his Epic Cycle Ride?

70-year old Neil Logsdon will be taking part in a sponsored cycle ride (not on a Penny Farthing!) departing 23rd June 2008, aiming to complete 1000 miles of the route from  Donaueschingen in Bavaria to Budapest in Hungary following the Danube River.

Neil has been so touched by the work of FOCC that not only has he organised the cycle ride with a colleague, but he and his wife are to host a very needy little girl in May this year.

On May 18th, Neil and his wife Olwyn will welcome into their home little Sasha Katia, age 7, for a 4-week recuperative visit.  Katia lives with her divorced mother. The father left the family a long time ago and gives nothing towards the child’s support. They live in a small flat, and the child has had to learn to take of herself from an early age as her mother has a serious drinking problem. Katia’s home circumstances combined with health problems arising from the Chernobyl Disaster makes her typical of the children in the care of FOCC.

If you would like to support Neil please donate through our Just Giving account (details on our web site) or send a cheque to The Charity Director, Friends of Chernobyl’s Children, 1 Brooklands, Chipping, Lancashire PR3 2QU, making the cheque payable to FOCC GB.
