The South Cambridgeshire group had a spectacular 1st visit from our 16 children in 2006.

Our 2009 Visit

Our group of 17 children from the Mogilev region of Belarus came to stay with their local families in June/July this year. In this third visit, once again local people and businesses showed their generosity of spirit and the children had a superb time. Too many people to list here but we could not do any of it without the support of the following:

Transport was provided by Home Counties Travel; fun and food often provided by the Black Horse and The Green Man; dental care provided by John Shenton, new glasses provided by Howes opticians and a perfect base for the whole month was provided by the very special Baptist Church Melbourn.  The children had amazing experiences that they will never forget.

In the short term their lives are transformed - in the long term their life expectancy increased by up to two years with each visit.  Their families at home are also temporarily relieved of the financial and emotional stress which they suffer.
FOCC can only help these children through the generosity of people like us in the UK ....

  • Unwanted children's clothing can be recycled in the best way imaginable!
  • Volunteering time or organising activities when the children are here, rewarding for the you as well as the children.
  • Raising funds through donations or activities helps towards the £400 it costs annually per child to provide the four week programme.

Our next fundraising event is a Ladies Evening on Wednesday 18th November at the Old Bull Inn in Royston.  For just £7.50 you can enjoy a glass of wine, a treatment of your choice - a mini manicure, indian headmassage or perhaps an session with a reflexologist?  Whilst other treatments will also be bookable on the evening. Come and help support this great charity, enjoy an evening with friends, treat yourself to a little pampering and shop at leisure ...what more could you ask for!

Thank you to all involved for the tremendous support you provide for these children.
