LOCAL GROUPS FOCC South Cambridge Area: South Cambridge Group Coordinator: Nicola Dunklin - email The South Cambridgeshire group had a spectacular 1st visit from our 16 children in 2006. We are now looking forward to seeing all 16, plus another two boys on September 9th 2007. The clock is ticking and our fund-raising continues in a wide variety of events: auction sites, car boot sales, raffles and parachute jumps to name but a few!
Two of our group members visited the children in their own homes in Belarus in April this year. Nothing could prepare us for the experience, seeing for ourselves the appalling conditions our children live in. Having said that, nothing could prepare us for the warm welcome we received from the families, eternally grateful for what we do for their children. We returned to our home comforts in England more determined than ever to raise the funds needed to make this happen. Just a look at their faces tells it all, the improvement in four weeks was clear for all who met them; their eyes sparkled & their faces shone. To bring each child here for a life changing four weeks a year costs just £400.
